Google Checkout's Valentine Day Offer

Google Checkout has conducted a survey through Harris Interactive on the shopping behaviour of people this valentine season.
The report concludes that:
- 52% U.S. adult Valentine’s Day shoppers* will be buying gifts for more than one Valentine this year (the list includes spouses, parents, pets and extra sweethearts)
- 43% will be buying more than one gift for their valentine
- 55% of men indicated that they plan to buy for spouse, compared with 44% of women.
- 11% indicated that they typically spend $10 or less. On average, U.S. adults spend about $70 in total on Valentine’s Day gifts.

One interesting finding was that more adults (6%) will be buying gifts for their pets as compared to for their fathers (5%) and grandfathers (1%). Lucky pets there. Google Checkout has also announced a discount of $10 off a one-time purchase of at least $10 for first time buyers. The offer lasts till February 15.
