A WebmasterWorld thread is discussing methods of URL canonicalization which is mainly related to avoiding duplicate content troubles in Google. Canonical domain is a single domain that the site owner wants his site to be known by. The discussion was begun by a member who advised not to use "stacked redirects" when doing domain canonicalization. The idea was supported by an administrator of WebmasterWorld.
New methods have been added to and a number of ways to the same are listed at the thread.
