For last couple of years, Yahoo! has been the preferred destination for Internet users all over United States. However, according to Search Engine Journal Google now reigns supreme not only as the country's most trafficked website, but also as the most popular search engine in the entire United States.

There is a new concern at the Webmaster World with many Webmasters reporting that Google is showing their 'robots.txt file' in its SERPS (Search Engine Result Pages). Although, it shouldn't pose any threat, still there is considerable concern over this latest development. However, some other Webmasters are simply considering this display as an anomaly and believe that this won't be affecting websites and rankings in any ways.

Last week I had informed my readers about the launch of Google' translation service known as Google Translate. This service is Hindi specific and offers direct and automated translation of English text to Hindi. However, according to the Google Blog Google has added another 10 new languages to Google Translate's database, thereby bringing the total number of languages to 23. These newly added languages are Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Finnish, Hindi, Norwegian, Polish, Romanian and Swedish.

Google Webmaster Tools has announced, the addition of 4 more languages, bringing the total amount of languages to 26. It means that the Google Webmaster Tools is now available in 26 languages. The new additions are:

1. Arabic
2. Hebrew
3. Hindi
4. Thai

The addition of these four new 'Googlers' are aimed at providing enhanced assistance and keeping the workings of Google Webmaster Tools clean and simple. The 'Googlers' help monitor Google's Webmaster Help Groups in different languages.

Google appears to be breaking its own rules on the subject of displaying advertisements for alcoholic drinks such as rum, gin or vodka, with Vodka making a comeback in Google's Search Results. According to Search Engine Watch, Google has begun displaying Vodka advertisements with a list of its Vodka advertisers at the top of the page.

Last month, Google had incorporated a new feature in Google Maps, called 'Street View'. Besides fetching directions for a destination, this feature enabled users to view images of their destination and its routes as well.

In an effort to join the field of social network data portability, Google has announced its plans to launch 'Friend Connect'. This feature will enable website owners to grow traffic by taking profile information from social networking websites and putting that information onto third party websites.

Last month we had informed our readers of Google's incredibly valuable tips for the Webmasters, instructing them as to how they could create more crawlable and accessible websites. Picking up from its previous post about accessibility, Google has now come out with new tips and suggestions. But this time these suggestions are aimed at the designing structure of the web content for the websites. According to Google Webmaster Central Blog, these suggestions would enable a Webmaster's content reach to the masses and be smoothly crawled and indexed.

Two years ago, Google had launched its Custom Search Engine that enabled publishers and users to create custom search indexes that would target their website visitors' search requests. With the immense success of the Custom Search, Google had been adding new features and updates to it and now it has enabled custom search to expand and reach out to Google AdSense for search. According to Google Custom Search Blog, AdSense publishers will now be able to create Custom Search Engines (CSE) and use the various customization features from within their AdSense accounts. Google has announced the launch of 'Google Translate', a translation service targeted specifically for Hindi. This service will enable direct and automated translation of English text to Hindi. Currently, Google already has transliteration support for five Indian regional languages such as Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu.
