Drop In Trust Rank By Google
October 6th, 2006 | 794 Views RSS Feed
Taking away the trust factor or trust rank of a site by Google is the topic of discussion at Webmasterworld. Trust rank of a site reveals about the purity and white hat methods used by a site to get good rankings and effective number of incoming links. A site will be ranked well if it is doing everything perfectly. But if you apply some black hat tactics you will find a drop in the rankings.
The question raised at Webmasterworld is whether Google takes away the trust rank. It may happen all of a sudden or may take time depending upon when the algorithms of Google spot the tricks implemented. According to a senior member of Webmasterworld, Glengara:
"I'd suspect it's a combination of being a PR8 and the sudden massive increase in monetised pages, IMO you may have got away with it with a PR4 site, or if there was no monetization.." raised a heavy arguement about the monetisation. There must be something after "getting away with the PR4 site but not PR8 site".
