Google Ad Manager: Google's New Interesting Ad Service For Web Publishers

After accomplishing DoubleClick acquisition, further now Google has unveiled a beta version of Google Ad Manager. The Google Ad Manager is a free, ad serving platform which is directed towards small and medium-sized publishers. It is a much simpler solution than DoubleClick's DART platform which Google recently has bought over.

With Google Ad Manager, small businesses can optimize and manage their ad inventory and see how it is performing. This new tool will have Google AdSense as a default for unsold ad space. It will track different types of advertising including: display, search, affiliate, rich media, and video advertising. Some features of Google Ad Manager can be listed as follows:

  • Inventory management
  • Yield optimization
  • Ad targeting
  • Trafficking, ad delivery, and order booking
  • Creatives and rich media management
  • Reporting
  • User interface navigation
  • Account administration

The Google official blog stated that in creating the new platform it was meeting the publisher's needs. In Google's word, “(Google Ad Manager is) Directed at addressing the ad management and serving needs of publishers with small to medium-sized sales teams, Google Ad Manager is a free, hosted ad and inventory management tool that can help publishers sell, schedule, deliver and measure their directly-sold and network-based ad inventory. Google Ad Manager provides an intuitive and simple user experience with an easy tagging process so publishers can spend more time working with their advertisers and less time on their ad management solution. And, Ad Manager helps publishers maximize their inventory sell-through rates by providing detailed inventory forecasts and tracking at a very granular level.â€

Besides, the Ad Manager making it easier to integrate AdSense throughout a publisher's website, it will also improve page load time. Google says, that the Ad Manager is focused on improving serving efficiencies to make sure that the right ad appears quickly every time. Built on our infrastructure, Google Ad Manager ensures fast serving speed and reliability with fewer reporting discrepancies.

Currently, Google Ad Manager is only open to beta testers and for a limited number of publishers.
