It seems that, Google has marked this day, as the 'redesign day' for its services. First, Google released the new revamped Google maps and now according to a thread at Webmaster World, Brett Tabke (CEO, Webmaster World) has pointed out, that there has been a major design change of the Google AdWords Sponsored Links search results. You can check this new design atgoogle.com/sponsoredlinks, by running a search query.

Before the facelift, the search results in the AdWords Sponsored Links were displayed as a single line (top to bottom) and aligned to the left side.

Here is how the AdWords Sponsored Links looked like before the facelift:

However, now the results in the AdWords Sponsored Links are displayed in three columns and neatly placed in four rows, that amounts to a total of 12 advertisements per page.

The new redesigned AdWords Sponsored Links:

Here are some excerpts from the Webmaster World thread:

“Must be pretty recent, cause it didn't look like that the last time I searched! “

“I like it better than the old one. I guess the ranking is from left to right.'

“The ads are indeed from AdWords advertisers, but that's about the only thing in common with the AdWords engine. "Search Sponsored Links" does not rank ads in the same way and it does not use the advertisers' keywords as triggers to display the ads. They made those changes back in May, and I wrote about it briefly over here (June 20 post).

The change to display the ads in a grid was more recent than that. But I'm still puzzled about the purpose of the new "Sponsored Links Search"… Are there really a lot of people that want to search based on the content of ads rather than the keywords for which they are displayed?â€

Well spotted! This is the first report I've seen of this. I've just checked it out. I guess it has a bit more impact? Intersting to note that my ad on normal results page one has its Google Checkout badge, but when you click through to More results to see this new layout there are no Google Checkout badges; glitch or intentional?
