Google Launches Mobile Image Ads!
April 24th, 2008 | 903 Views RSS Feed
According to Google Mobile Blog, Google's Mobile Advertisement Team has announced the launch of 'Mobile Image Advertisements'. These ads are newer formats of AdWord Advertisements that are designed to be displayed on mobile phones. Users who will click on these advertisements will be redirected to the product's mobile home page.
Google Mobile Image Advertisements are on a cost-per-click basis. The links must lead to a mobile page. This sort of advertisement campaign has been proved to show good clickthrough rates for advertisers as mobile image ads serve as branding tools for the advertisers. Publishers now also have the option of showing text, image advertisements or even a mix of both. Those publishers who have been using AdSense for mobile just need to 'update their AdSense Code'.
Currently, Google Mobile Image Advertisements are available in Australia, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, to name a few.
For mobile Internet surfers, these advertisements represent a whole new avenue towards mobile content. Only one mobile image advertisement is allowed per page, thereby giving plenty of browsing room to the user to surf through the web. At the same time he can click on the context relevant advertisements that might interest him.
