Google: Now Owner of AdSense
November 7th, 2006 | 101 Views RSS Feed
Nathan Weinberg announced that Google has bought AdSense. So from now on Google will be the proud owner of the domain adsense.com. Well that was the gist, but the complete story goes a long way back. The complication started when AdSense, not Google AdSense, but AdSense Consulting, the company got started in 1996 under the name of AdSense.com.
The site is not owned by Google. AdSense Consulting started getting hundreds of irrelevant phone calls and emails to answer Google AdSense customer support related questions, something nothing to do with their business. Sounds like a trouble. And so it was then the company decide to sell to Google. The amount for which Google bought AdSense Consulting Group is not disclosed yet but the site www.adsense2.com is still open for visitors.
