According to Reuters Google has been sued by a startup company called LimitNone LLC, stating that Google's business software unit had allegedly copied a tool designed by LimitNone, that was used for moving customers off Microsoft software onto Google's Gmail.

Limit None has filed a complaint stating that Google at first began promoting the smaller firm's tool for migrating Microsoft Outlook customers to Gmail, then copied the idea and went into competition with it. The complaint has been made in an Illinois circuit court. The law suit seems to be directed at Google Apps Software that includes Gmail for corporate users.

The complaint accuses Google of employing deceptive business practices that undermine the competition. It seeks reimbursement from Google of actual damages, attorneys' fees and calls on the court to award punitive damages to LimitNone.

In December 2007, Google informed LimitNone, a start up organization with an employee strength of 5, that it has decided to become a competitor of LimitNone's migration product and had further decided to launch the product into the market.

Just last year, Google had introduced a free application known as the 'Google Email Uploader', that according to the law-suit is similar to LimitNone's product and is also based on the identical conceptual design.
