Yahoo.com Redirects its UK users to uk.yahoo.com!
Yahoo! is redirecting its UK users to uk.yahoo.com. It means that Yahoo! is automatically presenting the localized version of its homepage to all users from UK. We can only imagine that this change is global in nature as there are a few reports that even in Germany this change can be seen.
Google Implements Changes to Strengthen AdWords Conversion Tracking!
Google has implemented some improvements to the AdWords Conversion Tracking. You will now be able to define actions that are most beneficial to your business and can perform individual conversion tracking on these actions. In case if you are using AdWords Starter Edition, then you would be required to upgrade to Standard Edition in order to use Conversion Tracking.
Google Webmaster Tools Adds 4 New Languages!
Google has announced, the addition of 4 more languages, bringing the total amount of languages to 26. It means that the Google Webmaster Tools is now available in 26 languages. The new additions are Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi and Thai. The addition of these four new 'Googlers' are aimed at providing enhanced assistance and keeping the workings of Google Webmaster Tools clean and simple.
Yahoo! Displays Geographical Locations in Search Advertisements!
Yahoo! is now displaying geographical locations in its search advertisements. For example a search query conducted from Seattle, Washington for 'lawyers' displayed resulted with geographical locations at the bottom of the advertisements. At first these advertisements were deemed as experimental and not much attention was given to them. However, it looks like Yahoo! has implemented this feature in its search advertisements for good.
Yahoo's Search Marketing Program 'Ambassador' Nearing its End?
It looks like Yahoo! is all set to drop its Search Marketing Program called 'Ambassador'. At the sign up page, when a user tries to sign up via any affiliated website, the Ambassador program page shows the following results.
"Yahoo will no longer be accepting new Ambassador applications until further notice."
Although, there are several reports that users are still able to log in and check their reports.
Matt Cutts Talks about Spam and SEO!
Google's Matt Cutts enlightened the audience with an incredible presentation at O'Reilly's web conference. The 'Spam Killer' spoke about some critical issues regarding Spam. The 10 minute video is widely considered as the 'Best Ten Minute SEO Video". According to Matt, he had always been looking for an opportunity to clear a misconception that many people had. It was commonly believed that SEO (Search Engine Optimization) was considered as Spam by Google and that Google hated SEO. However, with his 10 minute presentation Matt is quite certain that he has been able to reach out to a lot of people and clear this misconception.
