MSN's Lack Of Response To Search Reinclusion Request
March 7th, 2007 | 1,712 Views RSS Feed
A WebmasterWorld thread raises a query that reinclusion requests at Microsoft's Live.com Search works or not?
I have written webspam@msn.com four times and never a response. I have tried to stickymail MSN Dude and his box is always full. Has anyone ever been able to successfully have a site reviewed or reincluded in the index? It took Yahoo two weeks to review my site and reinclude it.
Another post says that the request was sent three months back. And after three months the site was reincluded:
As of today one of my sites, the one MSNDude said they ware releasing from the ban has appeared in MSN.
It's got about 20 pages indexed so I guess it is a start!
According to Live Search:
If you suspect that your website was removed from the MSN Search index, you can use MSN Search to see whether a particular web page is still there. To see whether your web page is still in the index, type the url:keyword followed by the web address(A location for a web page, such as http://www.example.com/. ) of your Web page. For example, type url:www.msn.com/worldwide.aspx, and then click Search. To see which web pages on your website are indexed, type the site:keyword followed by the web address for your website. For example, type site:www.msn.com, and then click Search. Because the web crawlers(A program that scans websites and indexes their information for searching.) that index websites manage millions of pages, it's normal for some pages to move in and out of the index.
We may remove a website from the index if the website was reported as spam. If you suspect that your website was incorrectly identified as spam, please send an e-mail message to webspam@microsoft.com.
