  1. Microsoft Added Multi-function Tab To Live Search Homepage. This tab includes a drop-down menu of various pages in beta.

  2. Google Rolled Out Android Programming Tools!. Google released Android – An Open Handset Alliance Project wherein a group of more than 30 technology and mobile companies, is developing Android: the first complete, open, and free mobile platform.
  3. Yahoo! Ads To Get Shorter: 75 Characters Or Less. Yahoo Announced Change To Shorter Descriptions informs Frank Watson who received two e-mails from the search engine company.

    "Yahoo will be cutting off ads at 75 characters. They had started this shortened descriptions some time ago but let you enter longer descriptions and they would only show the first 75 characters. Seems now you will not have the option – all ads will use the 75 character limit."

  4. Google Changes Rules For Adsense's Clickable Area. "Instead of allowing a click to be triggered in a broad rectangle around the text – which used to include whitespace in that area – you must now click specifically on the underlined title or the colorized URL below the snippet."
  5. EU Disappoints Google-DoubleClick Dea. International Herald informed that, "Google fails to win EU approval for DoubleClick deal' as authorities at the European Commission denied to okay Google's $3.1 billion purchase of DoubleClick, the Internet advertising company. Also the EU Commission ordered an in-depth review amid opposition from rivals, publishers and consumer groups."
  6. Yahoo! Quality Based Pricing Launched In The UK!. Yahoo! Quality Based Pricing for the UK was announced at SMX London.
  7. Microsoft Opens Live Search Webmaster Tools For Business. Microsoft formally opens Live Search Webmaster Tools for business. The Live Search team announced that, "it was created to help keep you informed on progress as we develop tools to assist you as webmasters. We will also be sharing from time to time on how to keep your site performing well."
