Microsoft's US $44.6 Billion! Bid seems to have struck a chord with Yahoo!'s board of directors. Though they have been surprised by the offer and have announced the bid as an “Unsolicited Proposal.”

However, they do seem to have put on their thinking caps to assess the value proposition the deal brings in for its stakeholders. The Company said that “its Board of Directors will evaluate this proposal carefully and promptly in the context of Yahoo!'s strategic plans and pursue the best course of action to maximize long-term value for shareholders.”

It's understood that the whole process could take some time as the figures and stakes are quite mind boggling.
