The Google Online Marketing Challenge is ON now!

After doodle for Google, Google now has announced a global online marketing competition. In the competition, the participant would compete with over 20,000 registered students from 61 countries around the world.

The global online marketing competition is developed by professors in collaboration with Google. Through this Challenge, the students would get an opportunity to gain practical, real world online marketing experience. Besides, the competing students will also get a chance to visit the Google Headquarters in Mountain View, California and meet the team that created AdWords.

As part of the global online marketing competition, the student teams will be given US$200 of free online advertising with Google AdWords. Then the students will have to work with local businesses to devise effective online marketing campaigns. The students would be required to outline a strategy to run the campaign, assess the results and provide the business with recommendations to further develop their online marketing. Once the teams submit their reports to the organizers, a paned comprising of independent academics from all over the world would judge them.

The Challenge is open to any higher education institution from anywhere in the world. The winners will be announced in July 2008.
