Yahoo Offers Credit As Measure Of Goodwill
December 18th, 2006 | 101 Views RSS Feed
Pepperjam, a well known name in the SEM world, lately took note of a strange click activity. Pepperjam Search Division immediately took the investigation to task. The evidences that they collected pointed to a possible click fraud from Yahoo's content network. They immediately contacted the concerned division at Yahoo.
Yahoo, in response said, “in response to your concerns about the click activity your account has received, we have issued a goodwill credit to your Yahoo! Search Marketing account balance in the amount of $X,XXX.XX for clicks that were billed to your account during the period of November 19, 2006, to November 27, 2006. Please note that we have issued this credit as a measure of goodwill and appreciation for your business.”
Interesting, Isn't it? Though Yahoo is ready to compensate but no where have they accepted their fault. The compensation is quoted as 'a measure of goodwill and appreciation'. Click fraud is common, and even Yahoo and Google are aware of it. Such events like the above only act as an eye opener for them. So if anyone is aware of any click fraud it is always better to collect evidences and inform and create awareness at the earliest
