September 7th, 2006 | 762 Views RSS Feed
EBay and Yahoo, two top Internet companies announced that they would be working together in several areas, including advertising and online payments. The partnership is "designed to mutually benefit both companies by better serving their user, merchant, and advertising communities in the U.S." The deal will expand Yahoo's share of Internet advertising. Yahoo graphic banner ads will now be displayed on the right side of the ebay Motors home page. The agreement includes integration of eBay’s PayPal into the Yahoo web services and payment options, a co-branded toolbar, and partnering for click-to-call marketing.
Both companies signed an exclusive US partnership earlier this year. “Our consumers will benefit from the combination of Yahoo! and eBay’s leading technology and services, providing them with one of the best online experiences,” said Terry Semel, chairman and chief executive officer, Yahoo! Inc.
