Yahoo! is one of the leading companies, not just online but in mobiles too thanks to OneSearch & its entry in mobile advertising. It has taken another big step in strengthening OneSearch & other mobile advertising offerings, by acquiring 'Actionality', which is an exclusive source for efficient and effective mobile marketing technologies and solutions.

Yahoo! moved for the Munich-based mobile company earlier this month, but there was no formal announcement of the deal. But the deal definitely strengthens Yahoo!'s commitment to the mobile channel. Earlier this year,Yahoo! ramped up its mobile search activities with the launch of its Yahoo! Go app and OneSearch simplified search system.

At Search Engine Land, Barry points to the Mobile Entertainment story on the Yahoo purchase of Actionality:

"Actionality has been a pioneer in the rising field of ad-funded mobile content. It works closely with brands and operators and specializes in ‘injecting’ games with ads at the point of download. The company secured seed financing from Doughty Hanson Technology Ventures in 2006."

Both Yahoo! and Actionality have not yet responded for any sort of confirmation from their side.
