Yahoo reports of rolling out some changes to their crawling, indexing and ranking algorithms. “While we expect the update will be completed soon, as you know, throughout this process you may see some ranking changes and page shuffling in the index” says Sharad Verma, Yahoo! Search.

As is the case with any update there's a warning that users might experience spikes or drops in traffic crawl for the next week or two.

Surprisingly, the previous update was spotted and discussed far and wide publicly before any official statement came up, see:December 2007 Update For Yahoo! Search Is On? and Yahoo! Search Index Update 2008, It's Official!. This time however there's doesn't seem to be a buzz at forums till now.
