Yahoo!’s newest mobile news was announced at Mobile World Congress today, so wanted to share the details with you.
Yahoo! unveiled its oneConnect service, a groundbreaking new service that will combine integrated mobile messaging with a socially-connected address book. It’s the first mobile product with an open architecture that aggregates communications tools like email, IM, SMS, and social networks. It’s expected to become available in Yahoo! Go 3.0 and Yahoo!’s new mobile home page in Q2 2008.
They previewed the service at their press conference at the show Tuesday and will again during a keynote presentation by Marco Boerries Wednesday. I have a screenshot of the service, if you’d like me to send.
Yahoo! also announced a strategic partnership with T-Mobile to deliver Yahoo!’s services to their millions of customers across Europe. Beginning at the end of March, Yahoo! oneSearch will become their exclusive mobile search service.
